AI tooling is infrastructure, not search — write your conventions down
most people treat AI tooling like a fast search engine.
the better framing: treat it like infrastructure.
130 hours across 13 days — deployments, outreach pipelines, server ops, browser automation. the model wasn't the bottleneck. my conventions were.
every time the tool skipped an established workflow — deploying by hand, touching an already-contacted lead, picking the wrong model tier — it was because that workflow existed only in my head. not in a skill file. not in a routing rule. nowhere it could actually read.
the fix wasn't better prompting. it was documentation. playbooks, slash commands, pre-flight checklists the tool runs before it touches production.
infrastructure works because the rules are written into it, not remembered by the person operating it.
your conventions can't scale if they live in your head. write them down somewhere the model can find them.
